Howard, CO is not a typical Colorado resort town. It's more of a typical Colorado funky mountain community. It's located in the Arkansas River valley about 12 miles east of Salida which is an interesting little resort town and home to one of my all time favorite restaurants "Laughing Ladies."

This area is known as Holiday Hills, a conglomeration of relatively nice, well-built homes, elderly, tumble-down bungalos and cabins, and faded mobile homes.

We spent four rainy, snowy, cold days there last April and thoroughly enjoyed it.
