Character. What makes someone a character? Is it the glint in the eyes, the insistent independence, the inviolable world-view? I suppose it's all of the above and more. Some people just seem to be more intense than others. You can see it in their eyes. They sort of smile all the time, as if they know something you don't. There were definitely some characters in this crowd.

I got the evening light working for me a little on some of these even though the bottom left shot borders on overexposed.
