It was after sunset when we finally left Busselton and I was able to get some low-light shots at the end of the walk. Some parts of the jetty did not inspire confidence and as we got farther from shore I began to calculate my chances of swimming back in the event of a collapse. Originally the jetty went straight out from shore and there was a railroad jetty which curved away from the main jetty, but the main jetty between the juncture of the RR jetty and the shore was wiped out in a typhoon (1969 is the date that sticks in my mind, but I'm not sure about that). If you look at the aerial photo in the previous post you can get a better idea of all this. After a full day of touristing we went back to Gelorup for fish and chips washed down with Edwards chardonnay. It was a good day. (G'day).
